Today marks the wedding of my most most most favourite cousin from my dad's side of the relative. Seeing her being married to be with her husband makes me a little sad because she won't be able to play with me during Chinese New Year anymore and my CNYs used to be happy cos she taught me how to draw and she played with me. Sigh sigh. Gone are the childhood times. Nonetheless, I'm glad she found someone who loves her wholeheartedly :D
At Church of Christ The King (My church!) :)
Their wedding booklet on top of my skirt :)
The theme for the wedding is summer floral and oh man, I went shopping with Becca and Junyi the day before and couldn't find any nice dresses. Becca ah, keep making me change into dresses. Tsk tsk. I don't wear dresses, seldom laa. Dresses look so weird on me. And I used to be a swimmer (don't laugh, it's true okayy!) so my shoulders are very broad :( For wedding I wore shirt and skirt Hahahaa quite a weird combi. You'll see later :)
See the small girl in front?? That's my little niece, the youngest one in her family. Her elder brother's Augustus and elder sis is Letitia. You'll meet them later. She's super cute right! Lol she scared until she went to find her mum and she cried in the end. But then ah, give her one sweet only she'll smile. Lol~
My nephew aka the bride's sister's son aka Augustus being the lector for the wedding :) He's grown into such a charming boy luh!
Father Yim sneaky sneakyy~ He ah, never change his speech for weddings lehh. Last year for Gor Gor's wedding, he gave the same wedding gift and his jokes ah, all the same. Tsk tskk. He used the double language for a joke "I shall sentence you for life" Lol whateverr~ So for Gor Gor's, my catechist Celina's and my cousin Jenny's weddings, I've heard it at least thrice already.
As for his gift to the couple which is a set of praying hands, I think he bought them in bulk. :S Priests don't have much money so must save. Their money largely goes to donations, you see.
Father Yim praying over them~ The altar boy in the background, I know his mum hahahaa okayy that was random. =.="
Exchanging of vows :)
"I will now declare you Man and Wife"
The Flower Boy and Girls :) To the right is my niece, Augustus' sister, Letitia :D There's another little sister but she ran off to ask her dad to carry her
I like this picture! But Letitia's pose ah, a bit unglam :/
Letitia~ I rmb carrying her when she was a toddler. Maaan, kids grow up fast, don't they?
Here's wad I wore laa. Not really nice but at least my skirt fits the theme~
Okay, this boy is my nephew, he's 24 this year. He married at 22, gave birth to a baby girl (see picture) at 23, now he's 24. And he has to call me Yee Yee (which means auntie) so in other words, his daughter has to call me GRAND AUNTIE. Kanasai. I'm 2 generations behind time already, being the youngest in my generation.
Let me explain my Dad's side family tree. My Papa is the youngest and that boy's grandpa is the eldest brother of my Pa family = my Dua Pek (Eldest Uncle). He married in his mid-20s and the trend followed so my cousin's 50+ and he has 2 children one girl (25 years old) and one boy (the above). Of course I have many more cousins, my Dua Pek birthed.. 4 or 5 of them. Yupp and my Dua Pek stays with his eldest son's family so the 4 generations stay together.
Let me re-explain Daryl's relation to my family. Uncle John is the third uncle from my Pa's family and he married Auntie Hazel. Auntie Hazel's brother is Daryl's father. Get it??
Daryl = My father's brother's wife's brother's son. *breathe*
Jenny Jie Jie and Dua Um (wife of Dua Pek) + Her son (my cousin, my nephew's uncle)
To the right, is the bride's mum aka Dee Um = Second uncle's wife.
Due to domestic problems, Dee Pek and Uncle John didn't come for the wedding and Dua Pek's health isn't good so Dua Um and family came instead.
They are damn cute right! They met at NUS Tennis Court and that's where they started Court-ing LOL And if I remember correctly, he's her boss at work too. :O
Bored while waiting for the guests to arrive~
I was astounded by her beauty luh~ She didn't look like that last time. Wasehh I got hope too! Need to photoshop for mine though. :/
Another cute pic!
Not only did they engage the same wedding priest, the hotel was the same too. Just that Gor Gor's wedding was a dinner, theirs is lunch. So I kept getting Deja Vu~
Told you I was bored~ Hahaha hahahaa!
The waiter's back view look strangely familiar.. Like.. Aaron Thong's back view during History Night while he acted as Yeltsin!
They're so damn cute, the groom pulled out his red packet from his pocket instead of the speech then he was so embarrassed hahaha!~
Jenny Jie Jie too! She thanked so many people then she ended her speech thanking her husband with "Thank you, dear, for saving me from the nunnery" cuteness to the max!
Whoaaa, I didn't realise the groom looked at my camera :)
Me likezx thixz piczxz! Letitia look like an angel watching over the blissful couple :D
Had a very fed-up lunch which I endured while everyone kept comparing me to my skinny sister and I was put on the defensive, explaining that she deliberately starve herself and refuse to eat meat plus use slimming lotion etc (much to my sister's glare).
Then she shot me back. Made me almost end up in tears. My parents also. Total biasedness to that extent. I seriously cannot take it. So I played rebel, I didnt eat the noodles in my bowl to show my father when I said I was full, I meant it. Everyone just assumed since I was bigger-sized my tummy would be bigger and I'm more greedy so I should eat up the remains which everyone didnt want. Excuse me? I have my pride too okayy. Although I play clown and try to get everyone laughing by acting like I'm some glutton motivated by food. Then everyone thinks I'm very open-minded and pry too much into my sensitivity. Treat me like some dustbin. Eat the remains. DO I LOOK LIKE A FREAKING DOG TO YOU.
My cousin was more understanding and sensitive to my feelings so she was trying to pacify me through jokes. Oh man without her I could have cried already. I love you, Bamboo~ Skinny with a heart unlike the rest.
Last highlight of the wedding lunch is the Yum Teh where the bridal couple are to show respect to the elders and offer them tea...
Then we went home and I voiced out to my parents that they were very mean during the lunch. My policy is, any unhappiness must vice out straightaway, if not the other parties involved would take you for granted and you'd be suffering alone eventually. Anyway voicing it out is much healthier than bottling them up.
Cried while voicing out :/ Pretended to look out of the window when my Pa peeped at me using the mirror. Then I took this~ Turned out pretty nice :)
Brought this home from the Church wedding~
My heels from Primary 5 Christmas Eve when I first sang in the Church Choir. Took the very first Family photo after Christmas Eve mass that day
Cherish.
Ardor. I guess it means Adore.
Finished the post! Sigh I feel damn sad now. Reminded of the lunch. Never mind I shall slim down all ye who belittle me. And I learnt something too, when I grow up, I'll learn from my cousin and be sensitive to others, I'd learn when to tease and when to stop when there's excessive teasing. Because excessive teasing is when hurt would be inflicted on the person.
Even though those adults were so insensitive, at least they taught me something and through their criticisms, I see my flaws. And I shall work on them. So from now on, even though criticims get really harsh and I'm super pissed/ angry/ depressed, I shall control myself and be more willing to listen to them and change accordingly if it's constructive comments. YEAH :)
